Keyword Bidding

Keyword bidding on search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, and others is a great way to gain instant traffic to your website. We encourage you to try your hand at the art of "arbitrage" as it is called in this industry, and see if you can find your niche market that will make you some money! The only request of you that we make is that you do not bid on our trademark names or renditions thereof. We police keyword bidding on the below terms regularly, and in order to remain in compliance with our terms of service, we'd like to remind you of the following restrictions on keyword bidding:

Bidding Guidelines

You may not use any of our trademark names or renditions thereof in any part of the Title, Heading, Description, or Display URL of your ad. The following list includes a few examples of restricted terms. Please do not bid on these terms or any similar combinations or misspellings:

Yahoo Specific Guidelines

Yahoo has a unique system that will sometimes display an ad for your site even if you are not bidding on our trademarked terms! In order for this to happen, you must have a keyword bidding account with them, and so we request that if you are engaged in any type of keyword bidding on Yahoo, to please manually exclude the terms below in order to avoid the aforementioned scenario from happening. Here are some detailed instructions on how you can do this quickly and easily:

  1. Click “Managed Sponsored Search” tab (located at the top of the page)
  2. Then go into “Manage Listings” option (located below top tabs)
  3. Display terms with Sierra, Seirra, Siera, Seira (each has to be pulled separately)
  4. Select keywords and click “Match Type Options”
  5. Enter the below list of words in the “Excluded Words” box on the right side of the popup
  6. Then hit submit to activate the exclusions

Restricted Vendors

Some of our vendors are extremely sensitive about how and where their brand names are marketed, and for this reason have demanded that their products are not marketed on affiliate websites. We take a proactive approach to dealing with this by making sure that these restricted vendor products are never included in our datafeeds, but we also need your help to make sure that you do not market them on your website/s. We value our relationships with these vendors, as we value our relationships with affiliates, and by keeping the list of restricted vendors updated, we hope to avoid losing any business partners. Marmot

Marmot

High alpine winds, impromptu thunderstorms, plummeting mercury... Marmot clothing and gear sets your mind at ease. Outdoor enthusiasts have trusted their comfort to Marmot clothing, packs, sleeping bags and tents for the last 30 years. Marmot was one of the first in the United States to fortify outdoor gear with Gore-Tex® revolutionary, waterproof breathable technology and remains Gore's oldest customer in the world outdoor market. In 1976, Marmot's college student co-founders spent seven nights in a commercial meat locker, testing prototype sleeping bags with and without Gore-Tex®. They were also known to test clothing under fire sprinklers. And while their testing methods may have grown more sophisticated, they haven't lost sight of their goal to make the highest quality performance gear that is simple, easy to use, comfortable, durable, and the lightest weight possible.
